We are proud to offer a new medical service to Knoxville and the surrounding communities. The Knoxville FNA Clinic is Knoxville’s only freestanding outpatient pathologist-performed ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration clinic. We offer convenient appointment times and rapid results.
What is FNA?
Fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy is a diagnostic procedure used to investigate lumps or masses by obtaining a tissue sample using a very thin needle to extract cells for examination under a microscope. The procedure is well-tolerated, fast, safe, and convenient. No hospitalization or anesthesia is required and patients can drive and return to work immediately after the procedure.
Dr. Daniel Snyder is a board-certified cytopathologist specializing in ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsies. After completing medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Snyder completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville and went on to obtain subspecialty training in a cytopathology fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology, and has been awarded a certificate of recognition in Ultrasound-Guided Fine-Needle Aspiration by the College of American Pathologists. A Knoxville native, Dr. Snyder enjoys camping and hiking with his family in the Smoky Mountains.
